Young people bring ideas, energy, and aspirations that are essential to Nigeria’s future. CLAI’s Youth Civic Engagement programme seeks to help young Nigerians understand democratic processes, think critically about public information, and take part with integrity and respect for differing views.
Learn
Build a clear understanding of civic responsibilities, electoral participation, democratic values, and the relationship between informed citizens and accountable leadership.
Think critically
Ask constructive questions, check the source and date of public information, distinguish evidence from opinion, and avoid passing unverified claims to others.
Engage respectfully
Listen to different perspectives, discuss public issues without hostility, and contribute to civic conversations in ways that support dignity, inclusion, and peaceful coexistence.
Lead by example
Use your knowledge and skills to encourage informed choices, responsible participation, community service, and constructive engagement among friends and peers.
Young voices, informed choices
Building confidence for responsible participation
CLAI seeks to create learning and engagement opportunities that help young people understand how public decisions affect their lives and communities. Activities may include civic learning sessions, public lectures, seminars, community conversations, and access to clear educational resources.
The aim is to help young Nigerians participate thoughtfully, communicate responsibly, and recognize that civic engagement is broader than any single election.
Youth, take your place
